She graduated in literature from the University of Ritsumeikan in Japan and studied photography at the University of Nihon, graduating in 2005. She has since collaborated with a variety of magazines and shot campaigns for fashion houses. Mayumi Hosokura has received many awards and distinctions throughout her career, and exhibited regularly in Japan and around the world. She is also the author of several books.
