This porcelain vase with openwork details was created by Leslie Zhang as a contemporary take on classic Chinese ceramics. In Zhang's words: "The work I do often involves recreating the beauty of living in China, especially in the 90s and early 2000s. Replicas of historical ceramics became very prominent in those decades, and for Zara's 50th anniversary, I wanted to make a piece that symbolized the brand's unique popularity." The piece references Longquan ceramics through both its shape—a rounded base with a narrow neck—and its delicate celadon glaze. A perforated band wraps around the central part, including the word ZARA and a peach blossom motif, a recurring symbol in Zhang's work.
